MSXML

Microsoft XML Core Services ( MSXML ) is a software library, VBScript and other Microsoft development environments allow the development of native Windows applications with XML support into programming environments JScript. It supports XML, version 1.0, DOM, SAX, XSLT, XML schemas to XSD and XDR, as well as others associated with XML technologies.

MSXML is a set of discrete items, each published and supported by Microsoft:

  • MSXML 6.0: MSXML6 is the latest MSXML product and is delivered (next MSXML3 ) with Microsoft SQL Server, and Windows operating systems. From this version XDR (XML - Data Reduced schemas ) is no longer untertstützt. Therefore, this version is not backwards compatible with 3 and 4
  • MSXML 5.0: MSXML5 is a binary version for Microsoft Office.
  • MSXML 4.0: MSXML4 was offered as a separate, downloadable SDK for software companies. For the German language an MSI package is available, but no merge package ( MSM) for integration into the setup of a software product.
  • MSXML 3.0: MSXML3 is a current MSXML product, which can be found in the form of the file msxml3.dll on Windows operating systems.
  • MSXML 2.5 and 2.6: are early versions of MSXML, recognizable to the files msxml.dll and msxml2.dll. You are no longer supported by Microsoft, and the exported CLSID's were withdrawn by MSXML 3.0.
