MTV Russia

MTV (Russian MTV: Музыкальное телевидение, German: " MTV music channel " ) is the Russian branch of the music channel MTV in Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union. The transmitter is manufactured by MTV Rossiya (Russian: MTV Россия ) operated, which also owns the channel VH1 in Russia.

History

MTV Russia since 1998, sends a themed music program similar to MTV in other states. The program is, however, of a very high proportion of domestically - Russian productions ( 60%) and a higher proportion of clip shipments than other MTV versions, due and also by the competition of the transmitter MUS -TW which commenced broadcasting before MTV Russia successfully relied on a strong weighting of Russian productions. Since 2004, MTV Russia awards the Russian Music Award.

The continued availability of music videos on the internet led over time to declining ratings, and from 2007, the program of the station was changed. Reality shows and series dominate since the program, and the broadcasting of music videos and music programs has been pushed into the background. In December 2012, it was announced by management that the transmit mode of MTV Russia is set to 1 June 2013. Viacom was, however, in May 2013 that the station is scheduled to transmit mode again in October 2013. On October 1, 2013 finally launched MTV Russia under Viacom in Russia.
