Mudcrutch

Mudcrutch is a rock band from Gainesville, Florida, from 1976, the band Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers was.

Band History

Mudcrutch was formed in 1970, but the band had played previously in itself already cast by various other names. Founding member Leadon left the band after an unsuccessful single in 1972 and was replaced by Danny Roberts. In the same year, keyboardist Benmont Tench joined them. Over several years Mudcrutch was the " house band " in Dub 's Diner in Gainesville.

1974 Mudcrutch got another record deal. The band moved to Los Angeles and then at Shelter Records released in the Single Depot Street. However, this could not place in the charts, followed by dissolving the band. Petty, Campbell and Tench stayed together and founded in 1976 the band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, which was successful worldwide ever since.

Reunion

In August 2007, the founding members met and recorded their first album together on. This was published on 29 April 2008 and rose in the Billboard album charts at position 8 a.
