Geography

Mühldorf is located in the Spitzer Graben on the edge of the Wachau in Lower Austria's Waldviertel. The area of ​​the municipality covers 28.46 square kilometers. 64.06 percent of the area is forested.

History

In Mühldorf the first Austrian Raiffeisen Bank was founded by the Landtag of Ernst Vergani with 94 cooperative members on December 6, 1886.

Population Development

According to the results of the 2011 census, there were 1389 inhabitants. 2001, the municipality had 1443 inhabitants in 1991 inhabitants in 1474, 1981 and 1453 in 1971, 1540 inhabitants.
