Mühlner Motorsport
Mühlner is a Belgian Motorsport team, which is active in the area of Gran Turismo and 2012 in the FIA GT1 World Championship (as Exim Bank Team China ) participated. The team has a close connection to the car manufacturer Porsche and has also worked as a parts supplier and service provider in motorsport.
History
Starts with Opel and Volvo
Mühlner sat from 1989 Opel vehicles in a long trek sport. The biggest success of this period is the gain of the driver and team standings of the VLN Endurance Championship Nürburgring in 1997. Between the end of 2001, developed Mühlner a racing version of the Volvo S60, which was used until 2004.
Gran Turismo
From the year 2004 to make Mühlner makes the Porsche brand in various national and international GT championships and endurance races. FIA GT1 World Championship
In 2012 Mühlner was responsible for the use of two Porsche 997 GT3 R in the FIA GT1 World Championship. The series promoter SRO initiated this commitment to increase the number of vehicles of the Championship to the necessary minimum. The team started with the inclusion of the Chinese Exim Bank as the main sponsor Team China. After the fifth race of the season did not occur Muehlner Motorsport in the FIA GT1 World Championship, because the Exim Bank had withdrawn financially after the cancellation of the race in China.
Benjamin Lariche came with three different partners in Muehlner Motorsport: Ren Wei, Dino Lunardi and Andreas Zuber. None of these pairings could score points - also because the emergency vehicle with four races could not start because of technical problems. The Frenchman Mike Parisy and the New Zealander Matt Halliday shared for four race weekends a vehicle and, together posted a third place in the qualification race and a victory in the feature race at Zolder. Parisy drove his last race at Mühlner together with Andreas Zuber at the event in Portugal.
