The road branches off in Manjmup from the South Western Highway (R1 ) to the east - southeast. It runs through a little -populated area with vast Karri and " Jarrah " forests. The only major settlement is the small, predominantly agricultural town Rocky Gully. Roughly in the center of the 150 km stretch of highway leads on the north shore of Lake Muir, a small lake in the Beadmore Ridge, the Highway lent his name along.
