Mount Barker (Western Australia)

Mount Barker is a small town on Albany Highway in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. In 2006 the town had 1,761 inhabitants.

Location

Mount Barker is located 360 Kilomer south of Perth and 50 kilometers north of Albany. The coastal town of Denmark is approximately 50 kilometers by road southwest. The Hay River rises west of Mount Barker.

Business and Administration

Agriculture and animal husbandry determine the local economy. Among other things, there is also growing grapes. The city is the administrative seat of the Local Government Area ( LGA) Shire of Plantagenet.
