Munditia

Munditia "Proto genius " (Latin munditia, cleanliness, neatness, gr proto genius, first-born, high -born; * 250 in Rome; † at a November 17 probably 310 ibid ) is a Christian saint. It is one of the so-called catacomb.

Life

About her life is not much known; only an inscription on the marble stone in front of her former niche grave in the Roman Cyriacus Catacombs, where she lay buried until 1675 and where today, the Church of Saint Lawrence located outside the walls, reveals:

The 15th day before the Kalends of December, the November 17 " APC " is difficult to interpret, but might be meant as a time, so as Andronico Probo consulibus ( " as Andronicus and Probus were consuls " ), making the year 310 as death Munditias comes into question. The blood vials found in her grave suggests an ordeal she suffered, according to tradition by the ax.
