Municipal Pérez Zeledón

The Asociación Deportiva Municipal de Puntarenas is a football club based in San Isidro de El General, Canton Puntarenas, San José Province, Costa Rica, which Costa Rican in the highest league, the Primera División de Costa Rica plays.

History

1962 AD Puntarenas was founded and played most of his existence in the Liga de Ascenso Segunda División -

1991 increased the AD Puntarenas, three years after the other club in the canton of Puntarenas, AD Municipal Generaleña, in the Primera División de Costa Rica. Then decided on the boards of both clubs, it would be better if in the medium-sized city of San Isidro just a first division club would be, as one would otherwise compete within the city against each other, then the two clubs joined in 1991 along the AD Municipal de Puntarenas.

Since the merger Puntarenas continually playing in the Primera División de Costa Rica. The greatest success of the club is the vice-championship in the season 2004/2005.

Others

2009 bought the former AD Municipal Generaleña a second division franchise founded the club AS Puma Generaleña to revive her missing from the football club map. AD Municipal de Puntarenas but continues to be the successor club of both previous clubs.

Stadium

Puntarenas plays its home matches at the ends is located in the possession of the Canton, Estadio Municipal Otto Ureña.
