Kogarah is part of the metropolis of Sydney, capital of New South Wales. The area is 16 km ² and has about 53,000 inhabitants.

Kogarah is located in southern Sydney Inner west of Botany Bay on the Georges River about 15 km southwest of the city center. The area includes 20 districts: Bald Face, Beverley Park, Blakehurst, Carss Park, Connells Point, Hurstville Grove, Hurstville South, Kogarah Bay, Kyle Bay, Tom Uglys Point and parts of Allawah, Carlton, Hurstville, Kogarah, Kogarah South, Mortdale, Oatley, Penshurst, Ramsgate and Sans Souci. The seat of the Shire Council is located in the district of Kogarah in the north- east of the LGA.

Management

The Kogarah Council has twelve members who are elected by the residents of the LGA. The three members are from the four Wards East, Middle, North and West. These four districts are set independently of the districts. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
