Municipality of Loška Dolina

Loška Dolina ( dt: Laastal ) is a municipality in the Primorska region of Slovenia.

In the overall community consisting of 23 villages 3963 people live. Situated in a karst depression valley is close to the border with Croatia. It is surrounded by high mountains. In the south, the highest mountain Snežnik is ( Eng.: " Krainer Schneeberg " ) (1796 m). The largest town Stari trg ( dt: Altenmarkt ) is also the community center and has since 1477 a city charter. In the neighborhood of Frankfurt on 584m high district it has 838 inhabitants.
