Strathfield is part of the metropolis of Sydney, capital of New South Wales. The area is 14 km ² and has about 32,000 inhabitants.

Strathfield is located at the west end of Inner Sydney about 11 kilometers west of the city center. The area includes 13 Districts: Flemington, Flemington Markets, Homebush South, Homebush West, Strathfield South and parts of Belfield, Enfield, Enfield South, Greenacre, Homebush, Strathfield, North Strathfield and Strathfield South. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in Strathfield district in the center of the LGA.

Management
