Murdeira is a young settlement on the island of Sal in Cape Verde.

The village is located approximately 6 km south of the island's capital Espargos and thus about halfway between Espargos un the tourist center of Santa Maria. Until shortly before the turn of the millennium, few people lived in this place. This subsisted mainly on agriculture. With the emergence of tourism on the island, however, increased the demand for attractive tourist places.

Murdeira lies on the west coast of the island on the huge names given reproduced Baía da Murdeira. Within this wide bay, again there is a small naturally formed bay approximately the shape of a semicircle. The inside of this small bay is protected from the usual strong waves of the Atlantic Ocean and offers an ideal seaside resort. As a result, Murdeira emerged as a recreational settlement, which consists mostly of apartment homes and hotels with bars and restaurants. Residents of one of the apartments Murdeiras are entitled to free use of the swimming pool, which was built in the village. Another offering is planned for the future a tennis facility. The Baía da Murderia is also designated as marine reserve and rich in fish species. In the place therefore also a diving school was established, which is equipped with a decompression chamber. This is because there were too few customers in the area, moved to Santa Maria.
