Muszyna

Muszyna is a small town in the Polish province of Lesser Poland and has about 5,000 inhabitants.

Geography

The village lies in the valley of the River Poprad and two of its tributaries, at an altitude of about 450 m above sea level, near the Slovakian border and is part of the Powiats Nowosądecki. Muszyna is located about 11 km from Krynica- Zdroj.

History

Muszyna was first mentioned in 1209. Are located in the surrounding mineral springs, so the spa town developed.

From 1975 to 1998, the town belonged administratively to the province of Nowy Sacz.

The club MKS Muszynianka Fakro Muszyna was Polish champion in volleyball and takes as Bank BPS Fakro Muszyna at the Volleyball Champions League 2011/12 ( women). The football team Poprad Muszyna plays in the 3rd Polish League.
