The Pont -Aven is a ro-pax ferry and the flagship of Brittany Ferries.

General

The new construction was ordered on 22 February 2002 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg and completed as hull number 650. The ship, which is named after the Canton of Pont -Aven in Brittany, was put into service on 23 March 2004 and is mainly used on the following routes:

  • United Kingdom Portsmouth ↔ Spain Santander
  • United Kingdom Plymouth ↔ Spain Santander
  • Ireland Cork Roscoff France

Technical data and equipment

Pont -Aven is powered by four MaK diesel engines of type 12V M43, which act with 50,400 kW to two propellers. It reaches a speed of 27 knots.

The passenger facilities at the Pont -Aven spread over the following decks:

  • Deck 2-4: vehicle decks with 3,500 lane meters; they are loaded with a bow and stern ramp
  • Deck 5: Cabins
  • Deck 6: Information, two cinemas, Ward and cabins
  • Deck 7: A la carte restaurant Le flora with Le Fastnet Bar, Cafeteria La Belle Angèle and Le Café du Festival
  • Deck 8: Duty - free shop, Le Grand Pavois bar and cabins
  • Deck 9: sun and pool deck, reclining seat lounge and bar Les Finistères The bridge is also located on this deck
  • Deck 10: dog crates and exercise area
