My Brother Is an Only Child

My Brother is an Only Child ( Original title: Mio fratello è figlio unico ) is an Italian- French film production based on the novel "Il Fasciocomunista " by Antonio Pennacchi. Premiere in German cinemas was on 15 May 2008. Directed by Daniele Luchetti.

Action

Main character of this Familienmelodrams is Accio Benassi, called " disgust ". The narrative continues to 1962 and shows the young Accio as convinced Catholics in the convent school. Actually, he should become a priest, but because of bad behavior, he flies from school and returns to his family. Constantly Accio feels his older siblings Manrico and Violetta opposite reset. He tries to run away from home, but is brought back by the police. In the cloth merchant, he finds a friend who teaches him how to drive a car and enthusiastic about the ideas of fascism. Firstly, out of conviction, on the other hand out of spite against his siblings, are the Communists, the young Accio joins the party of fascists ( MSI) at. His siblings call him to account. Manrico missed Accio a regular rubdown to expel him his political ideas, but without success.

Unlike Accio Manrico is a heartthrob. His girlfriend Francesca, he added frequently, feels like it to communism. They meet in the small apartment of Benassis, in which the family lives together in a confined space. While Accio, who prefers to Latin may, for school learning mathematics, he hears his brother and his girlfriend love each other. Manrico settles to northern Italy and lets Francesca back with their son. As still a long time later Accio to bring his brother a bag with money to Turin, contacted Accio Francesca. This goes to the meeting of the brothers, but leads to police to Manrico. In an exchange of fire with the police Manrico dies. Francesca is arrested for complicity. Accio returns with his nephew to his family. At night he breaks in the housing office and steals the keys to vacant apartments by the sea and a list of people waiting as his family urgently to a new apartment. He contacted the listed families and causes that they still move in the same night. The Benassis get a new apartment.

Interesting

The film takes place mostly in the city of Latina, the first fascist planned city that was built in the drained Pontine Marshes.

The same screenwriters (Sandro Petraglia and Stefano Rulli ) also have the film The Best Years of written, which also tells the story of two brothers with different political experiences over a long period of time.
