Alba Rohrwacher

Alba Caterina Rohrwacher (born 27 February 1979 in Florence) is an Italian actress.

Alba Rohrwacher was born in Florence, the daughter of a German father and an Italian. Her sister is the director Alice Rohrwacher. She studied acting at the Italian Film School Scuola Nazionale di Cinema in Rome. Her first film role, she received in L' amore ritrovato by Carlo Mazzacurati 2004. In 2007, she starred in Days and Clouds by Silvio Soldini the role of Alice and in 2009, this David di Donatello awarded the Best Supporting Actress. In the same year she received the award for the role of Giovanna in Pupi AVATIS Giovanna's father in the category of Best Actress. During the Berlinale, 2009, she was presented as a European Shooting Stars. In 2009, she starred opposite Tilda Swinton in Io sono of l' amore by Luca Guadagnino. At the Berlinale 2010, the world premiere of Silvio Soldini's Cosa voglio di più was shown, in which she plays the main character Anna. The German director Doris Dorrie chose Rohrwacher out for the lead role in her drama happiness.

2011 Rohrwacher was appointed to the jury of the 68th International Film Festival of Venice.
