The Mzuzu Airport is an airport near Mzuzu, the regional capital of the Northern Region of Malawi. It is operated by the state. 2006, a study was published that showed that it would cost $ 400,000 to renovate the airport. Therefore we wondered the airport to a private carrier for sale.

The airport is at an altitude of 1254 m above sea level. It has a start and runway (17 /35) with a length of 1308 m and 19 m wide.

Incidents

2004 occurred at the airport an accident in which an aircraft drove out of the car and a bus rammed. There were several people injured and one dead. On board the aircraft was Malawi's Vice President Chakufwa Chihana.

Flights

The national airline, Air Malawi flies the airport the only airline regularly for the civil air traffic to. The objectives are to Lilongwe and Karonga.
