Nadia Cortassa

Nadia Cortassa ( born January 5, 1978 in Turin) is an Italian triathlete.

Career

In 1996, she won the gold medal at the European Youth Championships in Modern Pentathlon (pistol shooting, epee fencing, swimming, show jumping and cross-country skiing).

As a result, she switched to triathlon. 2003 Nadia Cortassa vice - European champion on the short-distance triathlon (1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). In 2005 and 2006 she was at the European Championships each third party. She qualified in 2004 and 2008 for a starting place in the Olympics, finished in fifth place in 2004 and 2008 was due to an injury but does not start.

In January 2004, she married her coach, triathletes Andrea Gabba and the two are now living with her son Christian in Turin.

In 2006 she won along with Daniela Chmet and Beatrice Lanza Italy for the World Team Championship Triathlon in Cancun.

In May 2008, she was again after 2003 Triathlon European silver medalist.
