The Nairobi City Stadium is a football and athletics stadium in the Kenyan capital Nairobi in Eastleigh district.

History

The Nairobi City Stadium was built in the 1930s, one of the oldest sports venues in the Kenyan capital, and was formerly the name African stage or Donholm Road Stadium. 1958 the stadium received a new grandstand and improved sanitation. This was funded with £ 6600 by the African Trust Fund.

After Kenya's independence in 1963, it was renamed Stadium in Jogoo Road. Until the 1980s, it served as the main venue for competitions in football and track and field before the Nyayo National Stadium and later the Moi International Sports Centre it expired this rank.
