Nakhchivan (city)
Nakhchivan City ( Azerbaijani Naxçıvan şəhəri; Russian Нахичевань / Nakhichevan, the Armenian Նախիջեւան / Naxiǰe͡wan ) is a city in Azerbaijan with 64,500 inhabitants ( January 2004), the capital of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, cultural and industrial center ( textile and food industry ) in an agricultural area of the Caucasus.
The city has an area of 130 km ². In the city there is the Momine - Khatun Mausoleum. In the surroundings of mountain land; in irrigation cultivation of cotton, tobacco and fruit and wine; Silkworm, livestock; Mining ( non-ferrous metals, rock salt ).
