Nam Song-chol

Nam Song - chol (born 7 May 1982) is a North Korean football player.

Career

Nam has performed internationally as a player of the sports group April 25 in appearance, the club of the Korean People's Army.

He belongs since 2003 to the contingent of the North Korean national team and was with the team in 2003 and 2005 in the finals of the King's Cup in Thailand. As the only North Korean player he was at the East Asia Championships 2005, 2008 and 2010, both in the three qualifying tournaments as well as in the two finals appearances in 2005 and 2008 in the North Korean squad. In 2008 he was awarded in the qualifying round as the best defender in 2005, he finished with the team in the final third.

After Nam had already come in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup to nine appearances, he was also in the successful qualification for the 2010 World Cup to the pillars of the team. Together with Ahn Young- hak and Kim Yong -jun he pulled the strings in midfield and acted against the relatively inexperienced back four consisting of Cha Jong- Hyok, Ri Jun- il, Pak Nam- chol and Ri Kwang- chon.

At the World Cup finals in South Africa Kim was also part of the squad, but came only in the second group match against Portugal (final score 0:7 ) to a 15 - minute appearance.
