The 1220 first officially mentioned and probably built around 1200 Love Castle on Castle Hill ( Eisweiler ) is further evidence of the importance of our region.

Since the early Middle Ages ( around 1300) until 1 July 1952, the historical development of the ten districts is run partly different. The eight places Baltersweiler, Eisweiler, Furschweiler, Gehweiler ( partial), Heister Mountain, Hofeld - Mauschbach, Pinsweiler and Roschberg belonged until 1794 to the Official St. Wendel or time-and partly to the Official Liebenberg (Love Castle ) in the Electorate of Trier. In the context of enlargement with only seven mayors according to Regulation of 22 September 1823 to October 1, 1823, inter alia, the mayors Namborn and Upper Churches dissolved. In the canton of St. Wendel for it arose only two mayors, namely the mayor of St. Wendel, to the now Roschberg (next to 16 other places ) and belonged to the mayor's Bliesen with the places Bliesen, Oberthal, Güdesweiler, Gronig, Namborn, Eisweiler, Gehweiler, Heister mountain, Pinsweiler, Hofeld and Mauschbach, Baltersweiler, Furschweiler and Bornerhof, Alsweiler, winter creek and Marpingen.

By State Treaty of 31 May 1834, the Duchy of Saxe -Coburg, the Principality of Lichtenberg ceded to the Kingdom of Prussia, which took possession thereof by the Royal Prussian possession Seizure patent dated 15 August 1834.
