Namhae -gun (Korean: 남해군 ) is a district in the province of Gyeongsangnam -do in South Korea. The district consists primarily of two large islands, Namhaedo ( 남해도 ) and Changeondo ( 창선도 ). The largest city of the county is Namhae. It is located on the island Namhaedo.

Geography

Namhae -gun consists of the main island Namhaedo, the much smaller island Changeondo, the three small inhabited islands, Jodo ( 조도 ), Hodo ( 호도 ) and Nodo ( 노도 ) and another 73 small uninhabited islands.

The district covers an area of ​​357.33 km2, over 26 km in width and 30km in length. Namhae -gun thus represents three percent of the land area of ​​the province of Gyeongsangnam -do. The 302 km long coastline of the district has many bays and natural harbors, and large sandy beaches in the north- west. History
