Cheongju

Cheongju is a city in the province of Chungcheongbuk -do and the same capital in South Korea. It is located about 35 kilometers north of Daejeon, 128 kilometers southeast of Seoul.

Geography and climate

Cheongju is located in the plane at the Miho Mushim River. It has a temperate continental climate with four seasons. The climate is typical of South Korea, the average temperature is 11.6 ° C. Fall here each year 1,216 mm of rain, mainly between June and September.

History

Cheongju looks back on a long history that dates back to the time before the three kingdoms. While the unified Silla, the city served as the second capital and was an important army camp during the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty ( 15th and 16th centuries ). Train

Intercity buses leave from Gagyeong -dong intercity bus terminal after Gongju, Buyeo, Suwon, Seongnam and other cities in South Korea. There is a direct connection to the Incheon International Airport, Seoul (3h ).

Economy

In Cheongju over 180 companies have built factories. The largest and most famous is Daenong Fiber Co. chemicals, electronic goods and semiconductor products account for the bulk of the goods produced in Cheongju, but also ceramics and food are produced here.

Education

In Cheongju five universities, the Korean Air Force Academy as well as dozens of schools are located.
