Namibian general election, 1999
The presidential elections in Namibia 1999 took place on 30 November and 1 December 1999. As a result, Samuel Shafishuna Nujoma was re-elected as President of Namibia.
Of a total of 878 869 voters approved a total of 545 465 votes were cast in the election, representing a turnout of 62.1 %. The actual number of valid votes amounted to 539 024. As election observers were, among other things, the Namibian Institute for Democracy.
Parallel to this presidential election was held the parliamentary elections on these two days.
Election results
Samuel Shafishuna Nujoma was able to slightly increase its share of the vote compared to the previous presidential election in 1994, where he received 76.34 %.
