Namig Guliyev

Namiq Quliyev (or Namig Gouliev; born February 13, 1974 in Beyləqan, rayon Beyləqan ) is an Azerbaijani chess player.

The Paris Namiq Quliyev wearing since August 2005 the title of Grand Master. The three necessary standards for this purpose, he scored between July 2004 and July 2005 tournaments in France. His current Elo rating is 2562 (as of August 2013), that he is in eighth place of the Azerbaijani Elo ranking. He had his highest ever Elo rating of 2590 in April 2007.

Individual successes

In April 2003, he won a rating tournament in Nancy with 9 points from 9 games, in July 2003, the 7th International Open in Bischwiller and in August 2003 the International Open in Charleroi. In August 2004, he won the 11th Open International d' Ete in Nice and in November 2004 the 11th Open de Lutece in Paris ( 7 from 7). In September 2005 he won the Open the Young Masters in Lausanne ( Tigran L. Petrosian and together with Daniel Fridman ) and in October 2005, after the fine rating Klaus Boy Open in Hamburg. In December 2006 he won the Tournoi de Grands Maitres in Paris with a two point lead. In February 2007, he won the 5th Festival Meurthe et Moselle tournament in Nancy, in July 2008, the 42nd International Festival in Bagneux, in November 2008 on points against Alberto David the Evry Open and in April 2009 the 27th Open in Metz. The International Open in Malakoff he won in April 2010 and April 2013, the HSG Open in Hilversum, in June 2012 and June 2013.

Chess team

Quliyev played on the third board of the Azerbaijani national team at the Chess Olympiad in Turin in 2006, but he scored only 1.5 points from 7 matches at an Elo performance of 2117th Even at the European Team Championships 2005 in Gothenburg he had on reserve board part of the squad, was was not used.
