Nanae Sasaki

Nanae Sasaki (Japanese佐 々 木 七 恵, Sasaki Nanae, after marriage Nanae Nagata ,永田 七 恵, Nanae Nagata '; born February 8, 1956 in Ofunato, † 27 June 2009) was a Japanese marathon runner.

A graduate of the Nippon Sport Science University joined in the late 1970s under the guidance of Kiyoshi Nakamura, Toshihiko Seko who also coached the middle distance running a marathon.

In 1980 she won at the premiere of the Chunichi Speed ​​20 km (the predecessor of the Nagoya marathon ) and among 20 km from Sapporo and finished ninth at the Tokyo International Women's Marathon. The following year she came at the Boston Marathon with a personal best of 2:41:48 h the Japanese on the 13th and finished fifth in Tokyo.

In 1982, she was at the Eleventh Osaka Women's Marathon. As winner of the Marathon of Christchurch she succeeded with another Japanese record 2:35:00, and end of the season, she finished fourth in Tokyo.

After their victory in Tokyo 1983, she was nominated for the premiere of the woman marathon at the 1984 Olympic Games. In Los Angeles, she ran 2:37:04 in a ranked 19th.

After her victory at the Nagoya Marathon 1985, she ended her athletic career and got married. She was the mother of two children and worked as a trainer and consultant for their old team, the company's team of S & B Foods.

At the age of 53 years, she died of cancer pain.
