National Capital Authority

The National Capital Authority ( NCA; National Capital Authority ) is a planning authority of the Australian Government, which shall perform the planning interests of the Australian state in the capital, Canberra.

Made the NCA was established in 1989 when the Australian Capital Territory was granted the right to self-government. The Authority consists of a Chairman and four other members, all appointed by the Australian Governor-General. The chairman is full time working, the other members part time. According to the 1988 Law for the planning and land management in the Australian Capital Territory (Australian Capital Territory Planning and Land Management Act 1988 ), the NCA has the power to a national capital plan ( National Capital Plan) set up.

This plan sets the NCA to by engaging in the planning and development of those areas of Canberra which have a national broadcast or a central part of Walter Burley Griffin's original development plan are. These include the Parliamentary Triangle, major roads, land owned by the Federal Government or of the Canberra Nature Park.
