National Institute of Information Technologies

NIIT (short for National Institute of Information Technology ) is a global software company headquartered in New Delhi. The company's shares are traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

In German-speaking countries, the Group is represented by the NIIT Technologies GmbH, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main.

History

1981 founded the Indian entrepreneurs Rajendra S. Pawar and Vijay K. Thadani, the National Institute of Information Technology as a private IT training company. By the time originated in addition to teaching as a second IT Services and Solutions business. 1993 NIIT went public.

2004 NIIT separated its two divisions: NIIT Ltd.. continues the teaching begun in 1981, NIIT Technologies focuses on software development and management of business processes.

Today, the Indian parent company NIIT Technologies is represented in 14 countries and employs 5,000 people worldwide.

Locations

In 2000 was born from an IBM subsidiary with the Opus Informatic AG AD Solutions AG. The NIIT acquired in 2002, all shares of AD Solutions AG and was represented as one of the first Indian company with a subsidiary in the German market. 2004, the daughter of AD Solutions AG was renamed AG in NIIT Technologies. In 2007 the company was transformed from an AG into a limited company.

The product range includes customized IT solutions and services, including application development, IT security and IT infrastructure onsite, offshore and DualShore mode.

The NIIT Technologies employs approximately 60 employees in four locations in Germany (Frankfurt am Main, Monheim am Rhein), Austria (Vienna) and Switzerland ( Lucerne).

Others

The Sugata Mitra of 1999 in collaboration with NIIT launched experiment "Hole in the Wall" inspired by his own admission the Indian author Vikas Swarup 's novel rupees! Rupees. In 2008, the book by Danny Boyle titled Slumdog Millionaire was filmed.
