The Rruga shtetërore SH1 or Rrugë shtetërore SH1 (Albanian for, National Road SH1 ') is an Albanian national road and part of the north-south corridor, which Han connects i Hotit to the Albanian- Montenegrin border with Kakavija to the Albanian- Greek border thus also part of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway.

It is the main road connecting the Albanian capital Tirana and the north of the country, as well as Montenegro.

Route & development status

The SH 1 runs from the Albanian- Montenegrin border at Han i Hotit about Shkodra, Lezha, Milot and Fushë - Kruja Tirana to the National Road SH 2

By Hani i Hotit to SH 2 in Tirana, the road was partially upgraded to a motorway-like road with two lanes and emergency lanes on both sides ( Superstradë ) and has in some places over crossing-free ascents and descents. In addition, it is expanded to a length of 21 km between Milot and Fushë - Kruja to a highway and be part of the A1.

The SH1 branches from the SH2 on the northwestern outskirts of Tirana. As a result, it performs Kamza and then curve almost freely through the level after Fushë - Kruja. The further course through the coastal plain to the north follows a new route that was not created with the construction of the road in 2002. This crossing-free piece to Lezha in turn is characterized by long straight sections. In Milot introduces a new, 650 -meter-long bridge over the Mat, southwest of Lezha is the Old Drin happened on a 200 -meter long bridge.
