His inspiration for the lyrics Strid won in his work at a school for children with behavioral problems that have psychological and family problems. His experience he incorporated into the texts.

"Follow the Hollow" is concerned with the question whether it is right or wrong to follow something that does not exist. "The Flameout " is about a young man who constantly has problems and does not know how he hurt his environment by. In " Black Star Deceiver " is about a man who controls the lives of his friends and forces them to do cruel things against their will. "Mercury Shadow" describes the search for an antidote to hatred.
