Nery Brenes

Nery Brenes ( Nery Brenes Antonio Cárdenas, born September 25, 1985 in Puerto Limón ) is a Costa Rican sprinter who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

After he had retired at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 still in the lead, he reached two years later at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka the semifinals.

In 2008, he finished fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia and came again at the Olympic Games in Beijing semi-finals.

In 2010 he was Ibero- American champion after a fourth place finish at the World Indoor Championships in Doha.

His biggest success won Brenes 2012 at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, when he won gold in 45.11 s. At the Olympic Games in London was a surprise for him in the lead terminal.
