Neunkircher height of the Southwest

The Neunkircher height is 605 m, the highest elevation in the Hessian part of the Odenwald.

Geographical location

The Neunkircher height is 605 meters above sea level, the highest point in the Middle Odenwald and forms a more than a mile long wooded ridge extending in a circle mountain road, at the northeastern end of the eponymous district of the town of Neunkirchen share. This belongs to the municipality Modautal and thus to the Darmstadt- Dieburg. The highest point of Neunkircher level with the Emperor's Tower thereon belongs to the district Gadernheim in the community Lauter. The eastern side of the Eleonore clinic is part of the district Winterkasten.

On the western slope of the Neunkircher height where the spur of the Wester gable and the Mitre stone lies, spring the River Vltava and the volume and on the eastern slope of the Mergbach (formerly Gersprenz source).

Kaiserturm

On the Neunkircher height of 34 m high tower was built in 1906 as Emperor pure observation tower. His predecessor was a 24 m high wooden tower which was built in 1888 at the same place. This was torn down on 11 February 1904 in a stormy night. Name

Hiking

Winter sports
