Newton Faulkner

Sam Newton Battenberg Faulkner (born 11 January 1985 in Reigate, Surrey ) is an English singer and songwriter.

He is known for his guitar playing, which is characterized by percussive play on the guitar body and unusual finger picking.

Life

Faulkner attended a private primary school called Hawthorns in Bletchingley in Reigate. At age 13, he began by trying on drums and piano to play the guitar and attended the Italia Conti Academy in London. In 1999, he had to grow his characterizing it dreadlocks. In 2001 he moved to the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, where he studied for two years and graduated with diploma. A secondary diploma course completed Faulkner under his mentor Eric Roche.

His first band was a Green Day cover band, in which he played bass guitar. His stage experience grew steadily, especially when he founded his band Half a Guy with his friends Matt Buchanan, Dave Elvy and Nicola Crawshaw, a funk rock group with obstinate style. The band existed for two years and recorded two demo CDs. He then worked in the studio and played under his name Newton Battenberg Faulkner several concerts, including on the Lapagestock Festival on 11 June 2005 in Brent Knoll, Somerset. In addition, his title was Take Back part of the soundtrack to Trackmania Sunrise, which was released in April 2005.

Faulkner celebrated the greatest success in England. Appearances on BBC Radio 2 as well as a contract with Peer Music UK helped the songwriter to media attention. 2006 Faulkner performed at the South -by -Southwest music festival and 2007 on Guilfest. He also appeared in 2010 on the T in the Park festival in Kinross, Scotland, where the recordings for You instead emerged.
