NGC 3949

NGC 3949, a spiral galaxy that is 50 million light-years away from Earth. NGC 3949 is very similar to our Milky Way. In NGC 3949 been a supernova was observed: SN 2000db.

The galaxy was discovered on 5 February 1788 by the German - British astronomer William Herschel.
