NGC 4609

NGC 4609 is a galactic open star cluster in the southern constellation Crux, near the center of the carbon bag. The distance of NGC 4609 is estimated to be about 1300 parsecs. The pile was discovered on May 12, 1826 by the Scottish astronomer James Dunlop.
