NGC 47

NGC 47 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Cetus. The galaxy appears as a small, slightly oval spiral nebula with a bright core.

The galaxy was discovered by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht temple, probably in 1886. Regardless, Lewis Swift discovered the object on 21 October 1886. Thereby a second entry refers to Dreyer's New General Catalogue with NGC 58 in this galaxy.
