NGC 474

NGC 474 is a galaxy of type S0 and lies on the southern edge of the constellation Pisces, on the border of whale. The galaxy has an angular extent of 6.2 '× 5.0 ' and an apparent magnitude of 11.3 mag. She was discovered on 13 December 1784 by the German - British astronomer William Herschel. NGC 474 NGC 470, together with a loose pair of galaxies. Probably interactions between these two galaxies have caused the unusually complex structure of NGC 474.
