NGC 7027

NGC 7027 is a remnant of a sun-like star that has formed a planetary nebula. The approximately 3,000 light- years distant nebula located in the constellation Cygnus, has an apparent magnitude of 8.5 mag and has an apparent diameter of about 0.3 × 0.2 arcmin. The true diameter of NGC 7027 amounts to only about 14,000 AU ( 0.2 light years), with which he is one of the smallest and youngest known planetary nebulae. Its age is estimated to be around 600 years.

NGC 7027 was discovered in 1878 by the French astronomer Édouard Jean -Marie Stephan. Long time was also Thomas William Webb as the discoverer. However, he found the mist in 1879 a year after Stephen.
