Nick Webb (musician)

Nicholas "Nick" Webb (born 1954 in Manchester, † 5 February 1998 in London ) was a British jazz guitarist and composer in the field of smooth jazz and New Age.

Webb was a nephew of actress Sylvia Syms and had as a child actor with her and Tony Hancock in 1963 made ​​an appearance in the feature film The Punch and Judy Man. As a teenager, he performed as a folksinger and studied at Leeds College of Music, then briefly literature in London before he moved full time to the music. With Greg Carmichael He founded in 1987 the Jazz band Acoustic Alchemy with which they recorded their debut album Red Dust and Spanish Lace for MCA.
