Niclas Fasth

Niclas Fasth ( born April 29, 1972 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish professional golfer on the European Tour.

Career

He suggested in 1993 the career and won three tournaments that year on the Challenge Tour. Since 1994 he is a permanent member of the European Tour, with the exception of the 1999 season, he had to spend on the Challenge Tour. Fasth had in fact tried most of the 1998 season in the U.S. on the PGA TOUR and thereby misses necessary for eligibility to play on the European Tour money list placement. Also on the North American tournament series he could not establish itself. After that, Fasth concentrated again on the European tournament scene and reached number 10 in 2001 with his best ranking on the European Tour Order of Merit, not least thanks to a second place finish in the Open Championship behind David Duval. Followed in 2005 by another great season with two tournament successes and a 13th place in the money list. In the golf world rankings, he advanced into the top 40. In the 2006 season he won the prestigious Open de Espana at the Mallorca Classic and he managed another victory on Spanish soil.

Fasth played four times for his country in the World Cup, three times for continental Europe in the Seve Trophy and was in 2002 the victorious European Ryder Cup team.

Niclas Fasth has been married to his wife Marie since 2002. They have two children and reside in the English Ascot.
