Nicolas Koeckert

Nicolas Koeckert ( born November 9, 1979 in Munich) is a German violinist.

Biography

The German -Brazilian violinist Nicolas Koeckert, came from a musical family, received at the age of 5 years already his first violin from his grandfather. His academic studies, he began with 16 years at the University of Music Würzburg with Professor Grigori Zhislin. Nicolas studied from 1998 at the Cologne Music Academy with Prof. Zakhar Bron and since then occurs regularly as a soloist. His artistic diploma he put in Cologne in 2005 with honors and finished his studies in 2007 with the concert exam. In 2001, the young violinist was awarded first prize at the International Competition for Young Violinists Novosibirsk, Russia, the special prize for the best interpretation of the compulsory piece and the Culture Prize of the city of Novosibirsk. Then, in 2002, Nicolas Koeckert was the first German violinist who won prizes at the world famous " International Tchaikovsky Competition" in Moscow. In 2003 he was again awarded at the " Montreal International Musical Competition". In the same year Nicolas also won the second prize at the " International Liana Issakadze Competition" in St. Petersburg.
