Nicole Resch

Nicole Resch ( born September 25, 1975 in Neuhaus am Rennweg ) is a German lawyer and Secretary General of the International Biathlon Union ( IBU ).

Resch began at the age of eight years with the cross-country and moved at the age of twelve years to biathlon, where she was trained by Manfred Geyer. She ended her sports career early and studied law at the University of Würzburg. After the second state exam, she completed a concentrated on the Olympic sports program graduates in the field of sports management and sports law.

In 2007 she began working at the IBU - first as assistant to the then Secretary General Michael Geist Linger. After his departure she became his provisional successor as head of the IBU office. Since November 2008 she is officially General Secretary of the World Biathlon Association.

In the doping affair of the Russian biathletes before the Biathlon World Championships 2009, she represented the association to the public and attended to the investigation of the case.
