The place was divided before its incorporation in Niedercunnersdorf and Ottenhain and the two parts of municipalities Neucunnersdorf and Sonnenberg.
History
His first mention leads Niedercunnersdorf as well as the neighboring community Obercunnersdorf back to a deed of 1221.
Ottenhain was first mentioned in 1317. On 1 January 1999 the place was incorporated into the former rural community. Before incorporation into the new community Kottmar, Niedercunnersdorf formed the administrative community with Obercunnersdorf. On 1 January 2013 merged municipalities Obercunnersdorf, the neighboring community and the community Niedercunnersdorf Eibau the new community Kottmar.
