Obercunnersdorf is a municipality in the district Görlitz Kottmar. She was, prior to the incorporation, executive community of the administrative community Obercunnersdorf, which she formed with the neighboring community Niedercunnersdorf.

Geography
The district Obercunnersdorf extends in the valley of Cunnersdorfer water, about seven kilometers south of Lobau. Immediately south of the village rises the 583 m high Kottmar where one of the three sources Spree springs.
Local structure
For the former municipality Obercunnersdorf since 1 January 1999 belonged to the district Kottmarsdorf.
History
The village Cunradisdorf at Lobau was first documented in 1221. The place from the second half of the 15th century, a distinction was made between New, Lower and Upper - Kunerßdorf, belonged to the cathedral chapter of Bautzen. The proven since 1527 parish church in Obercunnersdorf was from 1597 to 1819 a branch church of Kottmarsdorf and was under the patronage of the cathedral chapter of Bautzen. Today the Kottmarsdorfer and Obercunnersdorfer churches are sister churches to the latter included the branch church Niedercunnersdorf since 1932. Together they form the parish of Santa Barbara.
The Waldhufendorf is known besides the Zittau district Dittelsdorf for its rich monumental Umgebindehaus stock and received the honorary title of UNESCO Denkmalort. 1995 Obercunnersdorf occupied in the national competition of the most beautiful villages in third place. Museums
Opened on November 11, 2000 Barber Museum Kottmarsdorf shows old interior of hairdressing salons and the tools of hairdressers yesteryear.
The Museum Heimatstube in the library house was in 2003 to commemorate the Obercunnersdorfer original Heinz Leßmann ( 1903-1983; 1929-1975 Protestant pastor in Obercunnersdorf ), the name " priest -Heinz - Leßmann -Stube ".

Traffic
Best time to call Obercunnersdorf is the newly built B 178n of Lobau, which runs from White Mountain to Zittau. The Saxon S 143 begins and ends here, run it four county roads through the town. Public passenger traffic was stopped in 2003. The railway line Zittau - Lobau through the village on a 340 m long viaduct.
