Nierembergia rivularis
Nierembergia rivularis is a species of the genus, the white cup ( Nierembergia ) in the nightshade family (Solanaceae ).
Description
Nierembergia rivularis is a creeping plant with rooting stems. The leaves are almost always hairless, they are 14-67 mm long and 4.3 to 11.6 mm wide. The petiole reaches lengths from 3.4 to 46 mm.
The flowers are on an approximately 1 mm long pedicel. The cup is filled about 11.8 mm long and 3.2 mm long calyx lobes. The white-colored crown has a 19 to 33 mm by measuring coronary band and a 24-75 mm long corolla tube. The pollen grains form tetrads.
Occurrence
The species grows on moist, partially flooded soils near the shore. The occurrence is limited to the catchment area of the river Paraná -Mar del Plata in the Argentine provinces of Salta, Corrientes and Buenos Aires, as well as in Bolivia, Brazil and Uruguay.
