Night Head Genesis

Night Head Genesis is an anime television series from 2006, which retold the story from the movie Night Head. The series was adapted as a manga in 2007.

Action

The two brothers Naoya and Naoto Kirihara have supernatural abilities. Fearing these skills they are passed as children from their parents a research center. There they grow unhappy until they manage to escape after 15 years. But now the brothers have visions of an erupting plague that could destroy humanity. In addition, they are hunted by the government and a large corporation who want to use their skills.

Production and publication

The series was produced in 2006, directed by Yoshio Takeuchi at Studio Bee Media. The storyboard according to the scenario of George Iida wrote Masahiko Murata. You Higuri designed the character design and Hiroshi Kato and Toshihiro Kohama were the artistic directors. BS Japan showed the anime from July 29 to 31 December 2006 in Japan. This was followed by broadcasts in Animax and GyaO.

Music

The music of the anime Shigeru Umebayashi composed. They used the songs Kotoba (言葉) of Under Graph and Nemutte Ita Kimochi, Nemutte Ita Kokoro Aya Kamiki for Broadcast.

Manga

A manga adaptation of the anime by George Iida and You Higuri appeared from May 2007 in Japan in Z Magazine in Kodansha. A total of three volumes were published. Del Rey published the volumes in the U.S. and in Carlsen Comics published since December, 2010, three volumes in German.
