Nikolai Sidelnikov

Nikolai Nikolayevich Sidelnikov (Russian Николай Николаевич Сидельников; born June 5, 1930 in Tver, † 1992) was a Russian composer. He was considered one of the most influential teacher of composition of Moscow.

Life

Sidelnikov studied until 1957 composition with EO Messner and Yuri Shaporin at the Moscow Conservatory. From 1958 he was assistant Shaporin and Aram Khachaturian and from 1961 he taught composition. In 1981, he was Professor ibid. His students include Vyacheslav Artyomov, Eduard Artemyev, Dmitry Smirnov, Vladimir Martynov and Anton Rovner.

His works have been in Europe, Asia and America listed (including by Mstislav Rostropovich ). He wrote, inter alia, three operas, a ballet, six symphonies and three oratorios and film scores (including desire for Djamila, Tibul defeated the Dickwänste ). His composition Russian fairy tales 1971 the Tribune presented the international Compositeurs in Paris. He became People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1992.
