Nils Arne Eggen ( born September 17, 1941 in Orkdal ) is a former Norwegian football player who now works as a coach. With Rosenborg BK, he won two as a player and as a coach three times the Norwegian title.

Career

Eggen began playing football at a local sports club Orkdal IL. After debuting at the age of 15 years in the men's team, Rosenborg BK noticed his talent and committed to young players. With the club he joined in 1960 to the excellence and established himself as a regular in the defense. Following a work-related move to Oslo in 1963, he joined the club and joined the capital club Vålerenga IF. With his new club, he became the national team and was one of the pillars of the 1965 team to Per Knudsen and Einar Bruno Larsen, who won the national championship.

In 1966, Eggen back to Rosenborg BK, which had risen after a short time in the second division again. On the side of Harald Sunde and Odd Iversen he was part of a young team that established the League rookie league in the front area. With three points ahead of Skeid Oslo the club as a climber won the league title for the first time. Despite a second place the following year he received the still unofficial award of Player of the Year. In 1969, he led the club to win the championship again, but after he ended his active career.

Before the start of the season 1971 Eggen inherited the Englishman George Curtis, under whose direction he had been standing on the field in 1969, as manager of Rosenborg BK and managed jointly with gate Røste Fossen the training of the club from Trondheim. At first attempt, the success set in, already in his first year he won the double of Bundesliga and National Cup. Subsequently, the national football federation began recruiting him. 1978 Eggen returned back as a coach to Rosenborg BK and was succeeded by Tor Røste Fossen as national coach. The now relegated to the second division club he led her back to the first division. Subsequently he worked as a coach at his youth club Orkdal IL until 1986 he took over second division side Moss FK. Eggen established Rosenborg BK as belonged to Norway. Directly in his first season he won the double again with the team.
